Welcome to the Moran Foundation Website.
Dear Friend of the John E. Moran Foundation,
This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the John E. Moran Foundation. Its existence is more than a lasting tribute to an enormously caring and giving individual.
I had the good fortune to meet John & Rita Moran back in the early 1970's. Seeing this wonderful couple's generosity of their time and resources, as they helped persons with various disabilities improve their lives, moved me greatly. John & Rita's sincere desire to share their blessings was truly inspirational to me. Here it is now over 30 years later and John continues to make a difference in the lives of others. To the many generous people who support the John E. Moran Foundation fund raisers, which include our annual golf tournament; the "Club 100"; charity raffles and a direct mail solicitation, I thank you for your willingness to give. I have the benefit of witnessing the good works that occur here in Rhode Island because you care about people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You also inspire me because by doing so you keep my dear friend John's generous spirit alive for us all.
For those of you who knew John, an encounter with him so often resulted in having him share a little of his cherised Irish heritage. To perpetuate this wonderful characteristic let me share the following with you. I feel it expresses what many of us feel in our hearts when we recall our friend, John E. Moran.
An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
The sun shine warm upon your face,
The rain fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
Gratefully yours,
Jerry
